Office staff. With Robin driving again, consideration is given to adjusting her pay to accommodate her driving a bus. During the school year (180 days) when Robin drives the Boys & Girls Club Route, she will make 23.71/hr. The other 80 days, she would make $21.02/hr. Extending that out on an annual basis, the average hourly rate would be $22.88 to work in the transportation office and drive the Boys and Girls Club route. Compensation for additional driving she may be required to do would be paid by claim and based on the difference of her hourly pay (22.88) and that of a driver (42.50). For example, if she would sub and drive a morning route for one hour, Robin would be paid her hourly rate of 22.88 PLUS an additional 19.62 ($42.50 - $22.88 = $19.62).
New Position - It is being recommended that we add a position/bus route to provide for transportation to the John Hinds Career Center Route.
Support Staff Increases. The increases have been applied.
TAG. Calculations have been completed and checks have gone out. We do an initial calculation and get the information out to teachers to catch any errors. We then make any adjustments before finalizing the calculations and getting the checks out to teachers.
Maintenance Staff. With Bruce's retirement last year, the maintenance staff felt they could absorb his tasks without hiring anyone to take his place. On a trial, we tried this first for the first half of the year and then again the later half. Rather than adding this increase pay to their hourly rate, it was paid as a stipend until we were comfortable that it would work. It has proven that it can. Therefore we are recommending that we adjust the hourly rate of the maintenance staff (D Benefiel, E Johnson, and M Webster) effective January 1, 2020.
Contract Extensions. It will be recommended that all contracts be extended. There are two administrators in question - HS Principal and Director of Operations. Both were given a rating of needing to improve. It was felt that it would not be good timing with a new superintendent coming on board for that person to also get up to speed with a new people in these two positions. They will have the rest of this year and next to get up to speed.
Pay Increases. See the memo attached (Memo Admin Pay Increase) for a listing and explanation of the recommended pay increases (for 2019-2020 contract year) for administrators.
