Facilities & Technology Committee

Mr. Wessel and Bruce recently made the rounds to look at the various items yet to be done by Performance Services.  I will be passing this list on the Performance Services with an expectation that all items be completed by September 30.  We have not seen a lot of progress made since we last met with Performance Services.  

We'll check with staff (through Admin) if they see any other issues.

The attached memo is what was provided to and was approved by the board on 2018.08.14.

Following last week's board meeting, Mr. Wessel and Bruce have checked all exterior doors to determine their security.  While they are all secure, there are some weaknesses that need to be addressed.  Most doors, Bruce is the process of repairing.  Entrance A is one that is being worked on through Performance Services.  Doors such as Entrance N should be completely replaced.

Mr. Wessel and Mr. Witherow have also reviewed all of the security cameras.  It has been discovered that 20 cameras need to be replaced at $1000 @.  The cameras are over 10 years old and are simply old and needing replacement.  We are looking at options for funding this expenditure.  It could be part of our match for the Homeland Security Grant.  We may look at using the bond issue as well to provide this upgrade.  Look at the entire system.  Are there cheaper cameras that we can use?

Send reminders to 2nd & 3rd shift custodian to check doors a couple of times throughout their shift.

Need to look at the playground security.

We are looking at door at elementary doors on either side office to enhance security.

Speed bumps on the parking lot to slow traffic down.
