The public hearing was called to order at 6:15 pm. by Mr. Plumer.


2. Public Hearing for Additional Appropriations for Operation Fund

In the winter of 2021, the Board of School Trustees approved a transfer of $500,000 from Rainy Day to the Operation Fund for greenhouse construction.  In order to use those funds for the project, an additional appropriation is needed in the Operation Fund.  We approved this additional appropriation earlier in 2022, but failed to upload it within 10 days on the DLGF.   It is recommended the Board of School Trustees approve the additional appropriations as written.

4. Consideration to Approve an Additional Appropriation in the Rainy Day Fund

The Total Seed Production Greenhouse is nearly complete but we still have some outstanding expenses.  Following the transfer of $500,000 from Rainy Day, plus the donation of $386,000 from Friends of Tipton FFA we could still have as much as $270,000 in outstanding expenses.  In order to cover the additional expenses, an additional appropriation directly from Rainy Day is necessary.  It is unlikely we will need the full amount since the additional costs include retainage and contingencies.  It is recommended to approve an additional appropriation up to $270,000 from our Rainy Day Fund.
