The end of June financial report shows our accounts in the positive. Our cash balance in the Education Fund is $829,712. In the Operation Fund our cash balance is $1,788,481 after property tax collection. This balance will increase substantially after we are reimbursed from the bonds of approximately $1,621,919. Balances in Debt Service are $1,379,061.10 and Rainy Day Fund are $2,511,815.
The IDOE is recommending but not requiring a $0.10 per meal increase for the 2022-2023 school year for students on paid and reduced price lunches. TCSC feels this is fiscally responsible due to increases with the coming school year's cost of food due to inflation and supply chain issues. 2022-2023 breakfast and lunch costs with the increase are listed below:
Student Breakfast: 1.80
HS Student Lunch: 3.10
MS Student Lunch: 2.80
ES Student Lunch: 2.70
The recommendation is to accept the IDOE recommended cost increase of $0.10 per meal.
During the last few months, the Board of Trustees approved the new Transportation Handbook. This month we ask for approval of the The Ride Guide. Updates are relatively small for this year. The Ride Guide will be included in registration materials. It is recommended the Board of Trustees approve Ride Guide as presented.
The 2022-23 TCSC Virtual Plan continues to become a more streamlined approach to virtual learning as Mr. Jaworski explained during our work session earlier today. Again, all TCSC virtual students will use Edmentum products as their curriculum. K-5 will use EdOptions while 6-12 will use Edmentum software and Plato. In order to qualify for TCSC Virtual, students must have a valid and medically documented need to attend in the virtual environment. Student progress will be monitored closely within these program by Mr. Jaworski. It is recommended the Board of Trustees approve the 2022-23 TCSC Virtual Plan.
