    Improving Attendance through Effective Communication

Tipton Community School Corporation has put an emphasis on improving student attendance for the past few years, with very encouraging early returns. Like many schools across the country, COVID-19 had a dramatic impact on how Tipton prioritized illness prevention over in-person attendance. This led to increased learning loss for many of their students. In an effort to “right the ship”, Tipton targeted student attendance as a means to return and exceed pre-pandemic achievement levels. Through consistent, intentional communication with families and a revamped attendance policy, Tipton has seen an incredible bounce back in attendance with their achievement data following suit. Join Tipton Community School Corporation as they take a deep dive into the data and discover how their story can help your schools improve not only student attendance but ultimately student achievement.

Presenters: Scott Jaworski, Assistant Superintendent, Tipton Community School Corporation

Robert Cochrane II, Board President, Tipton Community School Corporation
