I've been in discussion with Belvia Grey from BakerTilly and Jeff Quailkinbush regarding our debt coming off in 2023. Attached below is a projection of how we would structure the debt. The debt structure is similar to what we've done in the past. With 31,000,000 available we would stretch this debt out 20 years versus 10.
From Belvia:
Good morning, Ryan and Jeff,
As a follow up to our discussion, attached you will find more information on the operating balance spend down that the school will need to utilize over the next few years. Over the next few years, the school will need to spend down about $720,000 in operating balance. This allows the school to bring on debt a little earlier while still maintain the tax rate. One thing to note – we utilized the levy that was advertised in the school’s 2021 budget ($2.4 million) which was a little less than the 2020 levy and thus are calculating that the tax rate may decrease slightly in 2021. We trust this information will be helpful for your upcoming discussions, but please let us know if you have any questions or if anything else would be helpful.
